Local Intel
Eighty miles down I-35. Folks see that and assume an hour twenty, flat. Sometimes it is. Run it late at night, or before the sun's up, and you'll clock something like 1:15 to 1:25. Pick the wrong hour, though, and that same road turns into a parking lot. Morning rush from 7 to 9 pushes closer to two hours. The 4 to 6:30 evening window is the ugliest on a weekday, and a Friday afternoon or a weekend can stretch the whole thing to three. So we pad peak departures by 30 to 45 minutes. The road has earned that respect.
Where it actually backs up
The piece of I-35 cutting through downtown Austin, from US-290 North down to SH-71, is the single most congested roadway in the state. Average speed hovers around 38 mph, and it sags toward 30 when things get thick. Then there's the construction. The Capital Express Central project pulled the upper deck and squeezed the northbound frontage over the Lady Bird Lake bridge down to one lane, and that setup sticks around for years. Going south, you also run into weekend closures at the William Cannon bridge that shove traffic onto the frontage road. San Marcos and New Braunfels each bring their own slow patches. And on a big shopping weekend, the San Marcos outlets can triple the local crowd all by themselves.
The toll road we lean on
SH 130 runs alongside I-35 and dodges the downtown knot completely. We hop on it via SH 45 SE, run east, then thread through Seguin into San Antonio. It adds miles and a swing eastward, so no, it isn't always the smart play when traffic's light. But during a peak window, or after something's jammed up I-35, it's the choice we can count on. Counting on it is the entire point.
The Chauffeured Experience
Here's how a San Antonio day actually runs with us. It's not a drop-off. Your chauffeur and your vehicle stay put with you the whole outing, on call and as-directed, from the second we collect you in Austin to the moment we bring you back through your own front gate. You build the schedule. We hold the line on it.
On a route like this, the timing is the entire game. We're reading the live travel-time signs TxDOT posts along I-35, the ones stacking the interstate against SH 130, and we make the call off what the road's doing right then. We cover the tolls. We swing around the downtown work over Lady Bird Lake. We time your departure so you're not parked in the William Cannon closures or stuck at the New Braunfels pinch near SH-46. Done in San Antonio? Dinner on the River Walk, a meeting, a Spurs game, a wedding, doesn't matter. You text, we're at the curb. No app. No standing around hoping a stranger shows. No wondering whether your ride is coming.
For the drive itself, the Flagship Jetliner Sprinter is what most groups reach for on a day this long. It seats up to 10. Starlink Wi-Fi keeps the working crowd online for all 80 miles, plus climate control, premium audio, and real privacy back there. Smaller party? The 2025 Cadillac Escalade takes up to 6 in the same comfort, climate and audio dialed right in. Water and ice ride along free, and guests 21 and up are welcome to bring their own.
If your plans drop you at a major event or a venue where staging gets tight, we can coordinate purchasing parking access so the vehicle stays close by. We handle that one case at a time. Tell us where you're headed and we'll work out the logistics before you ever climb in.

Why The Jetliner
Questions, answered
How long does the drive take?
Open road, figure 1:15 to 1:25 for the 80 miles. Midday it's more like 1:25 to 1:40. Morning and evening rush can hit two hours or worse, and Fridays and weekends can reach three. That's exactly why we build in a buffer.
Do you take I-35 or the toll road?
Whichever one's actually moving. We decide off live conditions. SH 130 skips the downtown Austin mess and the construction, and the tolls are on us. Light traffic, and I-35 is usually quicker. Peak hours, the toll road wins.
Which vehicle should I book?
Making a real day of it with a group? The Flagship Jetliner Sprinter, up to 10, with Starlink Wi-Fi. Six or fewer, go with the 2025 Cadillac Escalade. Give us the headcount and we'll match it.
Can you handle a big event in San Antonio?
Yes. For events and venues where access is tight, we can coordinate purchasing parking access so the vehicle stages close. We sort that out one case at a time, so share the details when you book.
How far ahead should I reserve?
The earlier, the better, especially weekends, holidays, and event dates when the corridor is packed. Call 737-200-5252 or request a quote and we'll lock your day in.
What vehicle options are available for the Austin to San Antonio route, and how many passengers and bags can they accommodate?
For your trip from Austin to San Antonio, we offer the Mercedes Sprinter, which can accommodate up to 10 passengers and 8 bags, and the 2025 Cadillac Escalade, suitable for up to 6 passengers.
How can I stay productive or entertained during the drive between Austin and San Antonio?
