And on a big shopping weekend, the San Marcos outlets can triple the local crowd all by themselves.

The toll road we lean on

SH 130 runs alongside I-35 and dodges the downtown knot completely. We hop on it via SH 45 SE, run east, then thread through Seguin into San Antonio. It adds miles and a swing eastward, so no, it isn't always the smart play when traffic's light. But during a peak window, or after something's jammed up I-35, it's the choice we can count on. Counting on it is the entire point.
