Local Intel
Driving yourself around downtown right now? Good luck. The I-35 Capital Express rebuild has the whole corridor torn open through the middle of town, and the lane shifts and closures that started back in 2024 are going to drag on for years. The Convention Center is gone too. They demolished it in 2025, and that block has been an active dig ever since, with the rebuild set to run for years yet. The old move, park near the hall and walk a couple blocks, just doesn't work anymore.
When the traffic actually bites
Midweek is the trap. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, somewhere around 7:30 to 9 in the morning and again 5 to 6:30 at night. That's when I-35 between Lady Bird Lake and US-290 stops being a highway and turns into a long parking lot. Monday's the calm one by a mile. We build the night around those windows, and when the interstate is a lost cause we'll drop east onto SH-130 or slide over to MoPac rather than sit there watching the clock.
Drop-off and curb reality
6th Street isn't what it used to be. Cars are back on it permanently, sure, but the city ripped out the street parking and put down rubber bumpers between Red River and Brazos. Translation: there's no curb left to pull into. Try double-parking on Congress or stopping in a live lane on 6th and you're collecting a ticket or a clipped mirror. The people who do this for a living know the workarounds. The W Austin valet for ACL Live. The City Hall Garage off 2nd. The quieter cross streets off Rainey instead of the choked main stretch. We know which curb belongs to which block, and that's the one we use.
The Chauffeured Experience
Here's how a downtown night actually runs with us. You reserve the car and chauffeur by the hour, and we're with you start to finish. This isn't a drop-off. We don't leave you at the restaurant door and vanish into the night. The car stays on call and as-directed the entire evening, so the second you step out of dinner it's already easing up to you, and the pace is yours. No dispatcher deciding when you get picked up.
Picture a real one: dinner in the 2nd Street District, a show at ACL Live, then late drinks on Rainey. We take the W valet at the Moody Theater, find somewhere sane to stage while you're inside, and have you at the next stop before you've thought once about where the car went. Doing the bat thing off the Congress bridge on a summer evening? The crowd starts building roughly an hour before sunset, and the emergence runs out in well under an hour once it's dark. So we set the pickup for after that crush thins instead of trying to muscle through it.
Two vehicles, and which one depends on the night. For a couple or a small group up to six, the 2025 Cadillac Escalade is the easy answer: climate set how you like it, premium audio, plenty of room. Bigger party, or you want to keep working between stops? The Flagship Jetliner Sprinter seats up to ten, runs Starlink Wi-Fi, gives you actual privacy, and enough space to stretch out. Either way the chauffeur drives and you don't lift a finger.
On the big nights, a sold-out show or a packed conference event, we can arrange to buy venue parking access so the car stages close by instead of looping the block. That one's case by case and we line it up ahead of time. Every downtown outing carries a minimum hourly booking, which is what keeps the car yours for the night and committed to you, not split between other riders.

Why The Jetliner
Questions, answered
Is this a one-way ride or does the car stay with me?
It stays. Every downtown booking is hourly and as-directed, so your chauffeur and the vehicle are on call for the whole outing and move when you do. We don't drop you and head off.
Is there a minimum booking for a downtown night?
There is, yes, a minimum hourly booking. That's what keeps the car committed to you all evening rather than shared around other riders. Walk us through your plan and we'll quote the hours.
Where will you pick me up and drop me off downtown?
Whatever the block allows. 6th Street lost its curb parking, so for places like ACL Live we use the W Austin valet, and elsewhere it's the City Hall Garage or a sensible side street. We nail down the exact spot when you book.
How do you deal with the I-35 construction and traffic?
We plan around it. The I-35 rebuild means lane shifts downtown for years, and Tuesday through Thursday evenings are brutal. When the corridor's stuck we route via SH-130 or MoPac to keep you moving.
Which vehicle should I book for downtown?
Up to six, take the 2025 Cadillac Escalade. Larger group up to ten, or you want Starlink Wi-Fi and privacy to work between stops, go with the Flagship Jetliner Sprinter. Give us the headcount and we'll match it.
Can you get the car close for a sold-out show or big event?
Often, yes. For the major nights we can arrange to buy venue parking access so the car stages near the entrance instead of circling. We line that up case by case ahead of time. Call 737-200-5252 and we'll set it up.
