Hotel Saint Cecilia Car Service in Austin

One thing trips up almost everyone: Saint Cecilia isn't on South Congress. The address is 112 Academy Drive, a quiet residential street about half a block east of SoCo over in Travis Heights. Guests circle the avenue looking for a marquee. There isn't one.

The arrival is where most drivers fumble. That lot is gated. You roll up to a white gate sitting under the neon "Hotel Saint Cecilia Parking" sign, and someone buzzes you in. Spaces on site are limited and free, but you can't count on one being open. Overflow goes next door at Arlyn Studios, 200 Academy Drive. Academy itself is narrow. Idling there, or out on South Congress, just clogs things. We stage at the gate.

Parking and the curb reality near SoCo

South Congress went paid, and so did the Travis Heights side streets that wrap the hotel. The avenue runs Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to midnight, and Sundays from 1 p.m. to midnight. Residential streets shut off earlier, at 6 p.m. Here's the part people underestimate: the city wrote more than 13,800 tickets on South Congress over nine months, and March through May is the ugliest stretch. Leaving a car at the curb is asking for it.

Getting in from the airport

AUS to the hotel runs about 6 miles. Usually 13 to 20 minutes, off SH-71 onto I-35 or up East Riverside. The wrinkle at the moment is the I-35 Capital Express work at the Lady Bird Lake bridge. The northbound Riverside exit (233) is closed for good now, so we cut through Woodland Ave (232B) or Cesar Chavez (234B). We work that into the timing before you ever get in the car.

Here's how we run a Saint Cecilia booking. We don't drop you and disappear. You've got a car and a chauffeur for the whole window you reserved, hourly and as-directed, parked with you the entire time. There's an hourly minimum. After that, the day runs on your clock, not ours.

So at check-in, we buzz the gate and pull straight to the entrance instead of circling for a SoCo spot that might not even be there. Dinner on South Congress, then a show downtown, then back to the room? The car's waiting. Nobody's re-booking between stops or standing on Academy in the dark hoping a ride turns up. We watch the congestion that actually matters around here, mostly that I-35 and East Riverside knot where South Congress crosses the lake into downtown, and we'll run the toll roads (TX-130, 183A) when a longer leg makes it worth dodging the I-35 mess. For the quick airport hop, 130 is out of the way, so we just take the direct line.
